Uday Shankar Thirumal is a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Cloud Technical Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the retail industry. He is currently a Senior Manager I -DevOps & Cloud at Walmart, where he is responsible for cloud adoption for retail enterprises, implementation of DevOps in the Enterprise, and cloud infrastructure architecture automation. With over 16 years of relevant experience, Uday has a strong technical background in DevOps, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google cloud platform, Jenkins, Nexus, Ansible, terraform, and Sonar. He has worked on several projects, including building and growing a high-performance DevOps team across US & India locations at ascena retail group, where he was the Technical Manager Cloud and DevOps. He was also responsible for managing Ascena shared services horizontal in implementing CI/CD, automation, process improvements, and agile practices across multiple brands. At Tesco, Uday worked as a Software Development Engineer 1, where he designed CI and CD workflow for the AWS Cloud automation, using Jenkins and Terraform. He built and managed Splunk Heavy Forwarder applications Cloud environments hosted in AWS, built CI pipelines process using JenkinsFile, Github webhooks, and CD pipelines using Terraform. He also implemented Serverless (Lambda Function) for SNS notification and integrated with Splunk monitoring tool and integrated with Ticketing tools like ZenDesk and xmetters. Uday has a B-Tech degree in Information Technology from Vel Sri Rangarajan Sakunthala College of Multimedia and completed his +12 in Computer Science from Ebenezer Metriculation Higher Secondary School. He also attended Lions Metriculation Higher Secondary School.
